Before you book

Is Pilates suitable if I’m new to exercise?

1

Yes. Pilates is adaptable to all experience levels. Sessions begin at your current ability and progress gradually as strength, coordination, and body awareness improve.

Do I need Pilates experience?

2

No. Sessions are adapted to your individual level, whether you’re new to Pilates or refining an existing practice.

Is Pilates the same as Lagree or Megaformer?

3

Pilates and Lagree are different movement methods.

Classical Pilates is a movement practice rooted in the original work of Joseph Pilates, built around precise, intentional movement, breath, and the connection between mind and body. The goal is whole-body balance: building strength, flexibility, and coordination in equal measure.

Lagree and Megaformer workouts draw inspiration from Pilates but are designed primarily as high-intensity muscle endurance training. While they share some surface similarities, the underlying philosophy and intention are quite different.

Can Pilates help with pain or movement issues?

4

Many clients come to Pilates to improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and better understand how their bodies move. Sessions focus on improving movement patterns and reducing unnecessary tension through individualized guidance.

Which session type is right for me?

5

Private Sessions
One-on-one instruction with a fully personalized program and hands-on guidance.

Semi-Private Sessions
Small shared sessions where each client follows their own individualized program with teacher guidance.

Open Gym
A supervised independent workout for clients who already have an established program. Guidance and corrections are provided to help refine practice while building independence.

8

You may work on the reformer, cadillac, chair, barrels, and other Classical Pilates equipment depending on your needs.

What is Classical Pilates?

9

Classical Pilates follows the original system created by Joseph Pilates and differs from many modern fitness-style Pilates classes by emphasizing structured progression and whole-body coordination.

Testimonial

“I have been practicing Pilates with Maggie since January 2025. Her comprehensive knowledge of Classical Pilates combined with the Franklin Method have helped me develop better posture, strengthen my core and improve my flexibility.

At the beginning of each class, Maggie always asks “How is the body feeling today?” Maggie is always mindful of my body’s limitations and is quick to provide and demonstrate modifications so I always have a fun and challenging session.

I look forward to Maggie's classes from her welcoming smile to the final stretch. She is warm, kind and delightful to work with.”
